In a few weeks there is a staff-development session on 'Blogging'. This may sound irrelevant to what you need; however there is a use for a Blog in every subject, not as something to add to a lesson but as a tool to stimulate higher order thinking, enhance learning and improve student engagement.


House Keeping Tips for Maintaining Blog

It is helpful if you 'label' your posts. This will allow us to find information quickly as our blog builds.

You will find 'Labels' in the bottom tool bar of the 'new post' tab.

You can use your own title, the label is the important part.

Feel free to to add your own labels. They will automatically appear when you make a post with a new label name

Labeling Posts

In regard to labeling your posts it comes down to your judgement on whether you think the post deserves a special reference (to make it easier to refer back to).  All posts without labels are automatically archived (after 24hrs).  They can still be accessed from the archive menu in the right bar but it is more difficult to find information.

Staff Development

Just RSVP to the SD session. I am a bit skeptical about how I can use a blog meaningfully in PDHPE!
BTW, do I need to use a 'label on every post?

Where can I find more maths programs?

One of my students has injured their right hand and will not be able to use it for six weeks. We have arranged a laptop but I don't really know what sort of resources are out there. We are currently doing fractions. Any advice would be helpful!
